Shimin(Simi) Gu is a New York-based interaction designer and creative technologist passionate about influencing people through storytelling and creating emotional engagement with her audience.

She holds an MS in Integrated Digital Media from New York University and a BA in Advertising from Soochow University. At Mira, she has worked on immersive brand and cultural heritage experiences, including projects connected to Chanel, Sainte-Chapelle, and the Eiffel Tower. She also develops independent projects in collaboration with artists and professionals from a wide range of disciplines.

Since 2017, she has worked across the spatial computing field, driven by a belief that immersive digital media can be both a powerful tool and a source of joy. She specializes in real-time gaming experiences and is skilled at carrying ideas from concept into production with Unreal Engine and other creative tools.

Her projects have been exhibited at UCCA and Times Art Museum, selected for the XR Section of the 2024 Shanghai International Film Festival, and recognized at the 2025 AIXR XR Awards, along with additional international awards and exhibitions.
